Lake Victoria is the world's second largest freshwater lake, with a surface area of 68,000 km2. Lake Victoria Perch is very plentiful here, and is caught by small, independent fishermen. This type of Perch is one of the most important sources of income for the people living around the lake, and more than one million of them depend on the catch, processing and sale of this fish.
