MSC stands for Marine Stewardship Council. This organisation judges fisheries on the basis of sustainability, catch method, the extent of over-fishing etc. The produce of a certified fishery can be sold as MSC. Products can only be sold under MSC via certified (chain of custody) companies. These companies are certified for the traceability of their products.
